A private house falling into just this category was constructed by the architect Thomas Dibelius in an exposed location above the mansion capital of Germany, Wiesbaden. To the South and East, glazing panels to room height, a terrace and balcony open up the building to breathtaking views over Wiesbaden.
The back of the building does not need to hide its face – quite the contrary. Its design starts at the border line of the premises with its gate construction and skilfully integrated stainless steel door station with letterbox.

The limestone path and the entrance door in oak elegantly usher visitors indoors, where the same materials are used for the floor, walls, and fixtures. Among these luxurious fittings, it comes as no surprise that the same carefully selected material is used for the door communication system – while the door side element provides a charming contrast to the warm radiance of the wood.
