ARCH+ features
As part of the event series ARCH+ features, ARCH+ and Siedle is presenting an innovative generation of architects and authors who have their own unique approach to the contemporary architectural scene. For Siedle, the cooperation provides an insight into current production conditions in the world of architecture and provides invaluable impetus for innovation. The family firm is heavily involved in the transition between the inside and the outside and the question of how the significance of this threshold is changing.
Aspects of the threshold are consequently always a subject of discussion for ARCH+ features. While for the BARarchitects for instance, the way a building is networked can have a catalytic effect, Diébédo Francis Kéré in Africa creates zones at the transition point of a building with shaded threshold spaces. For Oda Pälmke, this “point of arrival is possibly the most important space in the house, a place where you divest yourself of everything you brought with you and rearrange yourself”.
