The Siedle app
Mobile and secure: The Siedle app has access to the door intercom system at all times – at home, on the move or from all over the world. Users can see who is at their door live on their smartphones or tablets. The IT processes behind this, which also include data exchange with our cloud-based server in Germany, are certified according to ISO 27001.
The Siedle app is such a practical tool
Goodbye old, hello app!
Ready. Steady. App!
The Siedle app is ready for use in just a few seconds. Just scan the QR code, and you’re done!
FAQs – frequently asked questions
Why are no calls signalled in the background (push notifications) on my Android?
There can be several different reasons for this, please try the following to resolve this (the settings paths given may vary slightly between Android versions):
Restart your device
Check that you have a stable Internet connection
Make sure that app notifications are activated in the Siedle app: To do this, go to Android settings → Apps & Notifications → See all apps → Siedle app → Notifications → activate "Show notifications".
Check whether background data is limited for the Siedle app: To do this, go to Android settings → Apps & Notifications → See all apps → Siedle app → Mobile data and WiFi → activate "Background data" and "Unrestricted data usage".
Deactivate the battery stamina mode or exclude the Siedle app from this function: To do this, go to Android settings → Apps & Notifications → See all apps → Siedle app → Advanced → Battery → Battery optimisation. Find the Siedle app in the list and select "Don’t optimise".
Deactivate the battery stamina mode or exclude the Siedle app from this function: To do this, go to Android settings → Apps & Notifications → See all apps → Siedle app → Advanced → Battery → Battery optimisation. Find the Siedle app in the list and select "Don’t optimise".
Check whether you have the latest version of Google Play Services installed and update this if not.
Please also note the following:
If you actively stop (force stop) the Siedle app via the task manager or the Android settings → Apps & Notifications → See all apps → Siedle app → "Force stop", then no further notifications will be shown for a short period (max. 90 seconds).
There are several third-party apps that can affect how push notifications are shown. These include anti-virus, energy-saving and system optimisation apps. Please disable these apps for test purposes and check whether this improves the Siedle app signalling.
Why are permissions requested in Android?
Camera
This is required for registering the app on your Siedle system using the QR code. The permission is therefore required for registration in every case, even when there is no camera on the system side. Afterwards you can disable the permission for the camera in the operating system settings if you wish.
Microphone
This is required for door communication. Access to the microphone is needed to use the Siedle app. Without this access, door calls cannot be established with the mobile end device.
Location
The Siedle app requires location access for commissioning the IQ HTS via Bluetooth. It communicates using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), for BLE there are two usage scenarios:
Transfer of small data volumes between devices in proximity.
Interaction with proximity sensors such as Google Beacons to offer users an individual experience based on their current location (used, for example, for key finders).
Siedle uses BLE for the first scenario. Compared to classic Bluetooth, BLE uses considerably less power. This is needed so that Bluetooth transmission with the IQ HTS is possible without requiring additional power. Android does not differentiate between the usage scenarios, basically all required permissions are requested. To support the second usage scenario, location access is required, even though no location data is required or used by the Siedle app.
Once commissioning is complete, you can disable the permission for the location in the operating system settings if you wish.
Where can I find the QR code for log in on my IQ device?
In the case of the Siedle IQ in-house telephone for the 1+n system (Siedle IQ HTS), the QR code is on the device (under the receiver). This is reused for each log in. If the QR code is missing, a second QR code can be found inside the device.
Where can I find the QR code for logging in to Smart Gateway and Access Professional?
If it is a Smart Gateway or Access Professional, the QR code can be generated in the administration interface in the browser. The QR code is generated when a new app user is created in the system. This can only be used once. Please ask your administrator/electrician about it.
Connect several locations
Those who are responsible for different apartments, branch offices or buildings, appreciate security, flexibility and convenience: The Siedle app can access the mobile door communication system for different locations – regardless of the user's location and across all systems. The Siedle app brings door calls from all stored intercom systems to smartphones and iPads.
This feature will be released with the next update of the Siedle app. Installed apps are automatically updated depending on the settings on the smartphone.

The Siedle app works in systems with Siedle IQ, Smart Gateway or Siedle Access Professional. If several locations are connected, systems can be combined as desired.

When there's a door call, the Siedle app shows the location it's coming from and which entrance. Users can open the door, talk to visitors and – if there's a video system – also see them.

Location management is extremely easy: Navigate to the relevant menu item, create, change or delete new locations, entrances, names or individual icons. It really is that easy.

Who stopped by, at what time, location and at which door? The Siedle system's image memory sees it all. Image data can be called up at any time and deleted in line with data protection regulations.

A practical solution for owners: in addition to your own apartment, you can monitor your child's student flat or your holiday home. Even across countries.

The ability to connect several systems provides literal freedom of movement: lawyers, doctors and tradespeople can link their homes and their offices, surgeries or workshops with a single device.

The multiple connection feature is particularly effective in industry and logistics – it enables caretakers to keep an eye on the door communication systems of office buildings and warehouses or several branch offices.

How secure is the Siedle app?

Compare to a conventional intercom system, video surveillance provides significantly more security and convenience. Thanks to the Siedle app, you can view the video feed on your smartphone.

A simple question to ensure complete security: If the user really wants to open the door, they have to tap to confirm so that nobody is let in by accident.

Data security as it should be: The Siedle server is located in Germany. All data is protected according to the European General Data Protection Regulation; thus unauthorised access or access by authorities is prevented.

Data in the Siedle system is encrypted such that no-one can access it. Rights governing who can work with data are strictly controlled.
What do you need to use the Siedle app?

The Smart Gateway interface establishes a connection to IP networks, the Internet and mobile door communication. Installed in a door intercom system, it transmits call, voice and video signals from the door to the digital end device.

Upgrade older Siedle intercom systems and benefit from mobile door communication: Simply exchange your existing in-house telephone for an Siedle IQ in-house telephone. And connect to the Siedle app.

In new systems, our IQ in-house telephones and the Siedle app connect you to the mobile future. They can be combined with all Siedle door stations.

This is all you need to get started with mobile door communication: one of our starter sets, consisting of a door station from the Classic, Compact or Vario design lines and the Smart Gateway – both in conjunction with the Siedle app.
How the Siedle app can be upgraded?

The Smart Gateway is the interface to IP networks, the Internet and mobile door communication. Installed in an existing door intercom system, it transmits call, voice and video signals from the door to the digital end device.

Mobile door communication for older intercom systems too: Simply exchange your existing in-house telephone for an Siedle IQ in-house telephone. And just connect to the Siedle app.
