Family

The Siedle company has always been owned by the family and managed by family members. This has served it well: employers, especially from the Siedle family, are more than just managers. They think in terms of generations rather than quarterly reports, and the company’s continued existence means more to them than quick profit.

Attitude

Siedle is a family-run business by conviction and with convictions. These convictions include the responsibility that companies and owners have to bear. Siedle does not view profit as a purpose, but as a prerequisite for its business activities. Its objectives are independence, securing jobs, maintaining the Furtwangen site and protecting our environment.

This attitude may come across as old-fashioned, but Siedle has shown that a company with an old-fashioned attitude can do business not just for a long time but successfully as well.

Reliability

Siedle practices fairness and reliability in its dealings with market partners and customers.

We do not seek our advantage at the expense of our partners. You have to rely on Siedle - even if that means foregoing short-term profit. This applies, for example, to pricing, delivery conditions, customer service and much more.

Social responsibility

Siedle is a medium-sized company which lives up to its high social responsibility.

Siedle remains in the ownership of a family foundation and adhere to its traditional values. Sale of the company, transformation into a public limited company, participation through external investors such a banks or investment funds are excluded.

Independence

Siedle retains its independence and autonomous status.

Investors who provide funds up front and then direct the company's fortunes do not roll along by chance. Either the owners want to withdraw, or the company is not generating enough profit. The first reason is out of the question at Siedle. The owners wish to keep the company, not to sell it. And the second reason is one we must avoid at all costs. We must be successful and generate adequate profits.

Stability

Siedle subordinates its growth targets to financial stability.

There is no great skill in generating growth by injecting large amounts of money – the skill lies in engendering growth with a solid financial backing. This skill is one we need to master. Siedle must always maintain a sufficient financial cushion in order to be able to absorb setbacks.

Securing the location

Siedle secures the company's location in Germany on a sustainable basis.

Instead of relocating: We sell more abroad to allow us to produce more in Germany.

Code of Conduct

Siedle committed to the Code of Conduct of the Central Association of the Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry (ZVEI) in 2021. Together with its corporate mission statement, the Code of Conduct documents the company’s commitment to social responsibility and to maintaining ethical principles. It refers to globally recognised standards such as the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the standards of the International Labour Organisation.

As part of voluntary obligation, the ZVEI’s Code of Conduct applies to Siedle’s economic activities and business relationships unless its own corporate mission statement sets more stringent targets.

Commitment

Horst-Siedle Foundation

The charitable Horst-Siedle Foundation supports social and cultural institutions and projects in Furtwangen and the surrounding area. It sponsors kindergartens and unions, for example, as well as private households in need. Business owner Horst Siedle set up the foundation to mark his 60th birthday. Instead of throwing a big party, he donated a generous amount of capital to his foundation, which has been topped up several times since.

Today, the Siedle company’s charitable and social commitment is carried out through the Horst-Siedle Foundation. It focuses on staying true to its values, location, people and the environment.
