Seamless building communication

Major project Spritten, Aalborg, Denmark

01.02.2022

Spritten in the Danish city of Aalborg is developing into a prestigious new quarter: ultramodern apartments are taking shape around a former factory. Three buildings with 90 units have already been equipped with Siedle door communication and access control. The intercom systems combine individual design and complex access control to deliver seamless building communication.

A nuanced design

The "Danish Distillers" (De Danske Spritfabrikker), a masterpiece of Danish factory architecture from 1931, is where the red Rød Aalborg and green Høker Snaps used to be distilled. The Spritten quarter is developing nearby. Architecturally, it picks up on the rich tradition of the environment and reflects the historical heritage with a nuanced, high-quality design.

Unique pieces in special colours

At the entrances, the high-quality approach is underlined by door stations from the Siedle Classic design line. These systems pick up the clear lines of the facade and the quality of the materials. The five door stations in the three buildings are unique. Their stainless steel fronts are painted in the two colours of the alcoholic drinks that were once made in the nearby factory. Thanks to the visual status display, which forms part of the barrier-free design, and the Siedle Secure access control, the intercom systems also meet high technical standards.

Complex access control

The access control is individually configured for each door station. After all, around 300 users require very different profiles to access the individual buildings, storeys, garages and apartments. In addition, a cloud-based system can be used to book guest apartments, with guest access limited to certain locations and times. The system is managed in the property management company's central office.

Web-based user management

The Siedle Secure product range is the first choice when it comes to complex access scenarios. As the system control centre, the Siedle Secure Controller manages any number of users and up to 2,000 different access profiles in the background; all access points are directly networked in the system. System administration is web-based. This means that user profiles and all opening, closing and other switching mechanisms can be conveniently adjusted from any location – such as on the Facility Manager's tablet.

The cloud-based booking software for guest apartments is connected to Siedle Secure via an API interface; the third-party smart locks for the storey doors are integrated via the manufacturer's gateway.

Indoor stations for optimum communication

The indoor stations in the Siedle Basic design line offer security and convenience as well as access control. The fixed handsfree devices enable residents in all apartments to talk to visitors at the door and open it for them at all times.
The clear, functional design of Basic evokes associations with the minimalist factory architecture. And Siedle Basic also has something else in common with the factory and its cost-effective production: The low price makes the indoor stations particularly attractive for large projects.
