Girls’ Day: Girls enjoy getting to grips with technology

When female students come from Schiltach to Furtwangen to enjoy the opportunity to drill, assemble circuit boards and try their hand at programming - then Girls’ Day has come around at Siedle. This year once again, there was lively interest shown in the possibility of an apprenticeship in the technical professions at the family firm in Furtwangen. The free places for the event were quickly booked up; two latecomers were allowed in, and then the Training Department was full: A total of 18 girls, largely from years 7 to 9, had the opportunity to spend a day trying out their technical talents, and were offered an insight into the different training professions on offer at Siedle. And they also had a moment to take home with them: Together with the current intake of apprentices, the students built and programmed an electronic dice which used a random generator to show numbers between one and six as soon as it was picked up.
