Red Dot: Best of the Best for Video Panels

Good Design Award 2014 for video panels
The internationally prized German Design Award 2014 has been conferred by the German Design Council on the new video panels from Siedle. In the Industrial Goods and Materials Category, their outstanding design quality earned them a "Special Mention".
Individual communication in the hotel
On the banks of the Vierwaldstätter Lake is the Park Hotel Vitznau, steeped in tradition and now reopened after a comprehensive refurbishment. None of the 47 suites is the same as the next. Siedle supports the individual concept of the house with a range of materials and internally developed convenience functions.
Video panels nominated for German Design Award 2014
The German Design Council has nominated the new video panels from Siedle for the prestigious German Design Award.
New status display
Siedle has re-engineered the status display for the hard of hearing and extended the application spectrum: From now on, the function module is also available for Siedle Access. The manufacturer has optimized the legibility of the Vario module by making detail improvements.
Red Dot Design Award for Siedle Classic
The Siedle Classic product line has received the coveted Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category.
What happens when we enter or leave a building? What is our perception of the experience, what role does the architecture play, what is the influence of technology? These were the issues deliberated by students at the Bauhaus University Weimar in cooperation with Siedle. The book "Threshold spaces" which has now been published looks at the results.

High-tech at the letterbox
Letterboxes from Siedle can do far more than simply receive the mail. Its connection with the door communication system lends the letterbox its own intelligence and creates a uniform look in the entrance area.
New size: Bus video panels
A video panel with a screen diagonal of just under 18 centimetres (7 inches) is the new high-end model among the Siedle indoor call stations. Its characteristic features are the large-scale monitor and a touchscreen in the deluxe models.
Metal with a system
Siedle is expanding the Siedle Classic design line to create a variable system. A range of modular functional elements and a design grid permit the configuration of individual door stations. Siedle Classic now with integrated letterboxes, access control and movement sensor module.
Siedle in the Hong Kong Design Institute
The red dot design museum in Essen is joining with the Die Neue Sammlung Museum of Munich to stage an exhibition of German design in the Hong Kong Design Institute. "German Design Standards – from Bauhaus to Globalisation" will be showcasing historic exhibits and contemporary product design from December. The exhibition will feature several prize-winning Siedle products.
Special distinction for Siedle
With the German Design Award, the German Design Council distinguishes pioneering products. This year, the renowned body awarded a new accolade for the first time, entitled "Special Mention".
Eun Young Yi designed the Stuttgart Municipal Library as a monolith. Nothing is allowed to disrupt the homogeneous outer skin of the building. This is why Yi decided to opt for Siedle Steel as the building communication system: The systems were designed precisely to the specifications of the architect and blend seamlessly into the building envelope.
Siedle Steel with new functions
A new support system makes Siedle Steel even more flexible. It allows elements to be fitted on both sides of pedestals and also permits surface mounting. Other new features include the electric unlocking of letterboxes, stainless steel removal flaps for pass-through letterboxes and illuminated information panels.
Classic goes modular
Siedle is expanding its Classic design series into a modular system. A range of functional elements and a design grid enable individual door stations to be combined. Classic systems now integrate functions such as letterboxes, access control and movement sensors. New call buttons without a visible fastening underline the classical impression and protect against vandalism.
Siedle Access in operation
Siedle is launching the IP-based Siedle Access system onto the market. Initial pilot projects have already been completed, and demand confirms the high expectations of the system. Access can be experienced in operation at light+building. Siedle is demonstrating market maturity with a number of sample applications – including the Siedle App for iPhone and iPad.

The portable sentry
Siedle brings door communication to iPhone and iPad – including moving pictures, bidirectional audio connection, door opener and other functions. The Siedle app was presented as a component for the Access IP system at light+building.
Listed architecture meets groundbreaking technology: The City of Hanover opted to rely on the IP-based installation system Siedle Access for communication in its Haus der Wirtschaftsförderung building.
