iF product design award for Compact Select sets

Compact Select sets, a 2008 product innovation, have been awarded one of the most prestigious international design prizes. The panel of judges praised the unique and innovative design which was a groundbreaking departure for Siedle.
"Innovations are out there and are finding their own form of expression" was the comment from the panel of judges after having selected 802 winning candidates from among the 2808 submissions from 39 countries.
There are several innovative aspects to the Compact Select sets: They emphasize the cohesion of the door and internal station for the first time by featuring a uniform, harmoniously blended design. In addition, they combine the simplicity of a complete set with an aspirational design appeal and top quality materials. And with three special editions in silky shimmering anodized colours, they offer outstanding scope for individual design concepts.
The judges also paid tribute to the courage of the designer to break with tradition and customary expectations and introduce something totally new. And this was not only the opinion of the iF award judges: Compact Select sets have also been conferred with the red dot design award and the "Design Plus" prize, and have also been nominated for the German Design Prize, Germany's highest design accolade.
