Siedle employees celebrate Christmas – proceeds go to a good cause
02/12/2008
Snow on the roofs, pony rides, a conjurer, games and a present from Santa: Enough to bring a shine to the eyes of around 350 Siedle children. Together with their parents and their colleagues, company pensioners and their neighbours they met on Saturday for a pre-Christmas party in the company grounds.
Employees traditionally take responsibility for organizing the Christmas market. They brought along home-made cakes, poured mulled wine and served hearty warm food from enormous steaming pans. Some of the foreign subsidiaries were also in on the action: The Dutch had brought along cheese, and the Belgians were offering tasters of their traditional Flammkuchen. The company donates gifts for the employees' children, funds the material costs and allows time off work for the preparations. |

This joint effort also serves a charitable purpose: With the proceeds, which are generously topped up by the Management, Siedle will be helping support the school band of Furtwangen's Bregtalschule.
Picture: Trainees donned angel and Santa costumes to walk around the market offering tombola tickets. |

Very popular with employees and guests alike: the "Oranje" cheese stand run by the Dutch subsidiary. |

A brass ensemble from Furtwangen's local town band was there to provide atmospheric music. |
