Siedle launches "WIR" training package

Siedle is one of the first companies in the Furtwangen area to sign up to the "WIR" training package. The acronym stands for a training partnership launched between industry, the Chamber of Commerce and regional schools with a view to improving the career and future prospects of students in secondary education. In Baden-Württemberg, the Chamber of Commerce has already gathered positive experience with the WIR scheme, which is now being launched in the Furtwangen area.

"We are keen to see the changeover from school to the world of work being shaped form an early stage," explains Mathias Seeburg, responsible for training in the electronics-related professions at Siedle. Siedle aims to offer students an insight into possible career paths, stepping up its existing close links with schools and opening up access to into the company for teaching staff. Siedle is launching the scheme with placements in the field of electronics jointly with the Werkrealschule technical college in Furtwangen.

Siedle looks back on a tradition of cooperation between school and industry: In the past year alone, the Training Department has made practical training placements available to 52 students from around the region. The company was one of the initiators of the Training Fair at the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium school.
