Double the size of screen, same price
Siedle is introducing a new video standard: From now on, all indoor video stations* for the In-Home bus will be equipped with a 3.5 inch screen. Compared to the previous entry level size of 2.5 inches, this means doubling the screen area to a size previously reserved to the more costly deluxe models.
Despite the upgrade, the prices will remain unchanged: Users will receive significantly enhanced performance for the same money. The improved picture quality and easier recognition are immediately visible - already compared to the previous Siedle standard and even more so in comparison to other makes with smaller picture formats.
Big can be beautiful
The general trend towards miniaturization does not offer the best option in every case. There are good reasons for making mobile phones and media players smaller; After all, they have to fit into our pockets. But a Video intercom has to be big enough to offer optimum functional characteristics and be easy to operate - even if you have forgotten your glasses or are not blessed with delicate fingers. This is why building owners should ensure that extreme compactness of design does not compromise functionality. A 3.5 inch screen, which is now offered by Siedle as a standard feature, provides almost double the active screen surface of a 2.5 inch monitor. 34 instead of 17.6 square millimetres. Which can make a decisive difference when looking from unfavourable angle or with impaired vision. Siedle recommends all building owners to check out the reproduction quality before investing in a video surveillance system - ideally by a direct comparison.
Ergonomics and security
Particularly in the case of hands-free devices where a button is actuated to accept a call, it is important to eliminate possible confusion. If the door release is actuated by accident instead of the call button, the door could be opened to an unwelcome stranger. This makes it essential for buttons to be sufficiently dimensioned, easy to operate and clearly marked. In Siedle handsfree stations, the call button is big enough to be pressed with an elbow if necessary - there is no risk at all of it being confused with the door release.
* The only exception are the complete sets and devices for the 1+n system.
