iF product design award for Siedle Select
The design line Siedle Select, a 2010 product innovation, has been awarded one of the most prestigious international design prizes. The panel of expert judges praised the unique and innovative design which was a groundbreaking departure for Siedle.
Siedle Select is innovative from a number of different perspectives: For the first time, the complete system permits cohesive design of the entrance area in single family homes. All the components are distinguished by their contemporary material mix of plastic housing with solid aluminium. They can also be mounted with a minimum of fuss, without the need to break through walls - making this the ideal system for use in insulated facades. The wall remains intact, the heat stays in the home. Despite the simplicity of surface mounting, their design lends the devices an unobtrusive low profile, making them appear to hover above the surface. And with a number of different surface options including any optional paintwork finish, Select offers scope for individual creative expression.
The iF panel of judges were not the one to recognize Siedle's bold innovative step: Siedle Select was also the recipient of the red dot design award 2010 and the Interior Innovation Award 2011, and was nominated for the Design Prize Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, the country's most prestigious design accolade. |
