Engineering degree and vocational training in one
From the summer of 2012, Siedle will be offering a course entitled Degree plus Electrical Engineering in association with the University of Furtwangen. The new course combines vocational training and the study of electrical engineering, and allows candidates to complete two vocational qualifications in one: In four and a half years, students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Technical Informatics and the vocational qualification "Electronics Engineer for Appliances and Systems".
Head of Training Michael Schonhardt was immediately impressed by the new course of study. "We welcomed this offer from the University with open arms. The combination of training and academic study offers an enormous bonus, both for the candidates themselves and for the companies that employ them". The career prospects for engineers with a practically-oriented vocational training are excellent, according to Schonhardt: "This is why we too benefit by providing a solid anchorage for our students here in the company". Because Siedle's policy is to give preference to trainee executives from within its own ranks when filling management positions.
The entrance requirements for the Degree Plus Electrical Engineering course are a university or technical college entrance qualification and a traineeship contract with Siedle. Successful candidates will receive a salary from the company up until graduation.
At the careers trade fair held on May 21st at the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium school in Furtwangen, Siedle provides in-depth information about the new course.
